HERON
ISLAND:
is a true coral island, right on
the Great Barrier Reef, 72km off the coast of Gladstone. The island is a
national park in the Marine National Park and is generally acknowledged as
offering best diving, snorkelling and submarine viewing facilities on the
Reef. It is surrounded by beautiful white sandy beaches on which turtles
nest between Oct and April.
There are no day visitors to Heron Island and all
meals included.
Heron Island is famous around the
world because it is exciting diving made easy. There's no need for day trips
to the Reef, because you're already there. So you can easily enjoy two full
dives a day. There are over twenty different dive sites, more than half of
which are just fifteen minutes from the beach. With so many acres of living
