White Shark Ecoventures
offers daily shark diving / sightseeing tours (weather permitting) off
Gansbaai, a mere stone's throw away from the most southern tip of the
African continent.

Approximately 12km offshore from Gansbaai we find two
islands situated next to each other. Due to a number of geographical
reasons - one being the shallow and narrow channel that runs between these
two islands, Dyer Island has become known as one of only two unique areas
in the world, where the chances to view the great white shark rises
exceptionally high. Other wildlife species such as the Cape Fur Seals,
Cape Gannets, Cape Cormorants, Jackass Penguins, whales and dolphins are
also likely to be sighted.
This is your
opportunity to dive and meet a Great White Shark, face to face - and on
your own terms. It’s an education and you will soon learn that this
magnificent creature is in fact, highly misunderstood. It is a creature,
which should be more respected than feared. Spend some quality time with
us, and with them, you will quickly learn why.
Getting
into the cage with the sharks around, is truly the most breath-taking
experience you will ever live to remember. When feeding actively around
the boat, the sharks may occasionally brush their tail against the cage,
but NEVER attack the cage. They are very curious though and often come
close-up to the cage, taking a closer look at the diver. A personal,
eye-to-eye encounter with this awesome animal, is guaranteed to get the
adrenaline going!

The boat is a luxurious powerful 26ft deep
sea cabin cruiser, fully licensed to South African safety standards.. With
spacious cabin, private toilets, beds, fresh drinking water, and top fly -
bridge for photography, she offers all the comforts for a safe and fun
filled day at sea. Underwater video camera hire is available.

Trips :
The operator is in possession of a valid
operating permit enabling them to work within the Dyer Island Nature
Reserve. Only long standing operators who are in compliance with certain
safety regulations and professional standards are entitled to the permit.
All the facilities are inspected by the authorities on an annual basis,
ensuring maximum safety for all the guests.
