For almost thirty years, three generations of bottle
nose dolphin have been visiting the beautiful beach at MONKEY MIA to interact with
visitors. Each day these intelligent wild animals return to the beach much to the delight
of the many visitors and researchers from around the world.
The SHARK BAY world heritage region is
located 850km north of Perth. 853km by road through spectacular farming and pastoral
country, ablaze with wild flowers in spring, Monkey Mia is a popular self-drive
destination. Skywest Airlines also offers their flight services. Once in Shark Bay you can
relax along hundreds of miles of magnificent beaches, tour the Francois Peron national
Park where you can see rare and endangered Australian native animals. Snorkel or dive in
the pristine waters of Shark Bay Marine park or perhaps join one of the many nature based
tours or cruises operating from Denham or Monkey Mia.

mantas and whales.
With the self drive option one can drive as far as Ningaloo Reef or Exmouth - further
north from Monkey Mia where the diving with Exmouth Dive Centre is friendly and
professional. Highlights include Whale Shark adventure, Muiron Islands with 2 dives on
their surrounding reefs with giant potato cod, manta rays, reef sharks, turtles and a
profusion of tropical fish and marine life of the Ningaloo Marine Park.
Located 150kms south of Exmouth is the idyllic beachside settlement of Coral Bay - a
perfect location to dive and snorkel Ningaloo Reef - with stunning corals only metres off
the beautiful white beaches.
